NPPL Staff
Volunteers
Our library volunteers are an amazing group of people who have committed to providing quality services to our patrons. They represent a wide range of life experiences and professions, including chefs, school teachers, journalists, computer technicians, and even a librarian. All are ready to welcome you to our library!
Terri Palmer
Terri is the Volunteer Coordinator for the library. Besides libraries, her passions are family, friends, travel, early childhood mental health advocacy, and helping people use their personal gifts to find success. Her current life philosophy is “The grass is only greener where you water it.”
Margaret Reh
Margaret Reh is one of our library clerks. She works on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Margaret and her family moved to North Plains in 1997 from Eugene, Oregon. She has been actively involved in the community ever since. She has volunteered at the North Plains Elementary School when her two daughters were students there, she served on the North Plains Planning Commission for five years and she was the North Plains Volunteer of the Year in 1991. She helped initiate the Committee for Citizen Involvement and over the past years, has planned seven of the city’s Chili cook-offs, Volunteer Recognitions, and Ice Cream Socials.
Adam Carlson
Adam is the lead circulation and computer clerk at NPPL. You can typically find him working on Thursday afternoons. Adam loves to think of new ways, especially through the use of new technology, that the library can serve the community. He usually likes to read fantasy / sci-fi books. But (gasp) he just can’t get into Harry Potter. His most recent favorite book is The Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan . In his spare time he loves travel, snowboarding, maps, camping, history, and (Euro) board games.
Heather Robbins
Heather Robbins is the Tuesday library clerk at NPPL. She is also the lead collections clerk and is always on the lookout for great recommendations! When she’s not working in libraries, you can typically find her hiking or drinking hot cocoa (even in the summertime). Her favorite novel to date (if she were forced to pick just one) is Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
Aaron Schmidt
Aaron is the director of the library. In addition to his work in North Plains, he is the webmaster of a few library websites. He writes a weblog called walking paper and is a frequent presenter at library conferences. In his spare time he can usually be found riding a bicycle.
He welcomes all of your comments and thoughts about the library. You can reach him by using this email form or emailing info@nplibrary.org.
