Kids & Teens
The Youth section of the North Plains Public Library is filled with materials for children of all ages, from those just learning to turn the pages of colorful picture books to teens looking for materials dealing with the issues of early adulthood.
We have several shelves filled with Board Books and soft puppets for our baby-age readers. Also in the Children’s section are Early Reader books, located just across from the Picture Book shelves. Kids can enjoy listening to some of their favorite stories on tape or CD from the Junior Audio Books section.
Junior readers can choose from either fiction or non-fiction materials, the latter covering topics such as science fairs, dinosaurs, pets and biographies.
Opposite the Junior Videos are the Young Adult materials. These include both fiction and non-fiction books, as well as a Comic Book Exchange shelf. Caldecott Award-Winners, Newbery Award-Winners and a selection of Historical Fiction for young readers are featured in displays.
