Things continue to be exciting at the library. Some of you may have heard that we’re working on becoming a full member of the Washington County Cooperative Library System (WCCLS). This is indeed true and we’re on target to be a full member on July 1, 2007.
What does WCCLS membership mean for you NPPL patrons?
Access to more books and more information. Many of you already have WCCLS library cards that allow you to place holds and Interlibrary Loan materials from around the county. Now you’ll be able to pick them up at the NPPL. You’ll also have access to databases containing newspapers and periodicals, automotive repair manuals, geneology resrouces, and much more.
Also, with funding from WCCLS, the library will be able to hire additional part time clerks. This will ensure full staffing coverage for the hours that the library open and give us more time to plan library services.
These changes are important, but there’s one thing that our membership into the WCCLS won’t change: our friendly atmosphere and great service.
